Using your VSP benefits
VSP is the largest vision plan in the country and one of the most commonly misunderstood. We are accepting new VSP patients in Santa Ana, and we will tell you what your particular plan covers before your appointment rather than at checkout.

We check the benefit before you arrive
Vision plans are needlessly confusing, and most people discover what theirs actually covers at the checkout desk. We would rather do that part in advance.
- Accepting new VSP patients
- Eligibility and allowances verified ahead of your appointment
- Frames and lenses priced against your specific allowance before you choose
- Any out-of-pocket amount explained before you agree to it
- If a visit turns out to be medical rather than routine, we tell you at the time

Other ways to pay
We accept VSP, EyeMed and Medi-Cal. Without any vision coverage, the in-house membership is usually the cheaper route.
VSP questions
Yes. Call 714-542-2226 or book online and mention you have VSP, and we will verify your plan before you arrive.
Give us your details when you book and we will check your VSP eligibility and allowances in advance. Plans differ substantially even within the same insurer.
Typically one comprehensive eye exam per year with a copay, plus an allowance toward either glasses or contact lenses — usually one or the other rather than both.
Generally not. Vision plans cover routine eye care and eyewear. An infection, injury, floaters, or monitoring for glaucoma is medical care, billed to your medical insurance instead.
In most plans, yes — the materials allowance can usually go toward either, but not both in the same period. We will price out both options.
Not in how we handle it. Employer-sponsored VSP plans vary considerably in copay and allowance between companies, which is why we verify your specific plan.
