How it works here

What your coverage includes

Medi-Cal may cover routine eye exams and eyewear benefits depending on your eligibility and plan.

During your visit, we’ll evaluate both your vision and the health of your eyes and let you know if any recommended services are not covered before moving forward.

Worth knowing

When eye care becomes medical care

Medi-Cal vision benefits generally cover routine eye care. However, visits for conditions such as diabetes, red eyes, eye injuries, infections, or sudden changes in vision are considered medical eye care rather than routine vision care.

In Orange County, these visits are typically handled through the medical portion of your health plan, not your routine vision benefit. Our team will help explain how your visit is being billed and let you know about any expected costs whenever possible.

If you need ongoing care that is not covered by your plan, our $119 annual membership may help reduce the cost of eligible visits and services throughout the year.

Other ways to pay

We accept VSP, EyeMed and Medi-Cal. Without any vision coverage, the in-house membership is usually the cheaper route.
